Pienaar wants to stay

by Admin , 10 March 2010 Everton Generic

Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has played down talk of a possible exit from the club and says he is happy as an Everton player.

There have been reports that top sides across Europe were going to make a move for the player in the summer with Bayern Munich especially interested.

Pienaar has played down reports of a move although until he extends his contract, which has just over a year left to run, the speculation will continue.

"I can't say anything because I wasn't approached," Pienaar told the Post.

"From my point of view, I'm an Everton player and I don't want stuff like that to distract me from what I'm doing. It is speculation.

"When you play well, there will always be talk of interest from clubs. I'm happy at Everton."
