Australia have launched an appeal against the two-week ban handed to Quade Cooper following the Tri-Nations victory over South Africa on Saturday.
Cooper was banned as a result of a dangerous tackle on Morne Steyn in the 30-13 win in Melbourne and as a result he will miss two the Tri-Nations matches against the All Blacks.
"SANZAR today received an appeal lodged by the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) on Cooper's behalf," tournament organisers confirmed in a statement.
"Details of when the appeal will be heard will be advised tomorrow."
