Stuttgart have confirmed that Germany international Sami Khedira will join Real Madrid, subject to the midfielder passing a medical.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a string of clubs following his impressive displays at the World Cup, helping Germany reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Despite the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea supposedly looking at the defensive midfielder it is Real Madrid who have managed to secure Khedira's signature.
Stuttgart weren't keen to lose the promising young star but the lure of moving to the Bernabeu and linking up with Jose Mourinho appears to have been too good an opportunity to pass up.
The Bundesliga side have now confirmed Khedira will leave the club, although failed to reveal any details on the transfer that will see him head to Spain.
A statement on the club's official website read: "In the end, everything went very quickly and those responsible for Stuttgart and Real Madrid agreed a switch for midfielder Sami Khedira.
"
As soon as the German international has completed the sports physical examination, he will put his signature on the contract."
