Preview: Fulham v Port Vale

by setanta.com staff , 24 August 2010

Fulham's new signings Rafik Halliche and Moussa Dembele are both available for the Carling Cup second round tie against League Two Port Vale on Wednesday.

Defender Halliche and striker Dembele may make their first starts for the club in the Craven Cottage encounter, with David Stockdale set to continue in goal as Mark Schwarzer is suffering with a back problem.

Long-term injury victims Philippe Senderos (Achilles), Andrew Johnson (knee) and Diomansy Kamara (foot) are all missing for boss Mark Hughes, whose side have drawn both their league encounters so far this term in games at Bolton Wanderers and at home to Manchester United.

Vale boss Micky Adams is expected to keep faith with the eleven that defeated Southend United 3-1 at the weekend.

Striker Marc Richards scored twice that day and should lead the line, with Kris Taylor and Tommy Fraser set to stay on the bench.

Doug Loft, however, suffered two broken ribs and a punctured lung in the recent 1-1 league draw with Chesterfield so the midfielder will miss out.
Vale shocked Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers with a 3-1 win at Loftus Road last time out and will hope for a second shock in West London come Wednesday.
