The GAA has scrapped plans to present the Liam McCarthy in the middle of the Croke Park pitch.
Plans had been in place to move the All-Ireland Final trophy presentations to the centre of the playing area in a bid to stamp out the traditional end of match pitch invasions.
As part of the GAA's quest to stop spectators from entering the playing area barriers have been erected in front of Hill 16, but in the interest of health and safety it has been decided that the Liam McCarthy presentation will take place in the Hogan Stand.
"The GAA has confirmed that both of the presentations following Sunday’s GAA Hurling All-Ireland Championship finals will take place in the Hogan Stand," a statement from the organisation said.
"In the interests of safety and the health and well being of everyone who will be in Croke Park on Sunday, the Association calls for the co-operation and assistance of supporters and asks spectators to refrain from entering the playing area after both games.
"As part of the match day arrangements it is planned that the winning teams from both the minor and senior finals will complete a lap of honour following the presentations."
Pitch invasions at the end of the All-Ireland finals have become traditions but safety concerns and an increase in the number of insurance claims has resulted in the GAA reviewing the practice.
