Asamoah Gyan says he has come to Sunderland to win trophies and believes he has what it takes to be a success in the Premier League.
The Ghana international joined on transfer deadline day for a club record fee of £13million having impressed many sides with his performances during the World Cup.
The 24-year-old was outstanding for the Black Stars in South Africa and his physical style of play is expected to fit in well with the Premier League's style.
Gyan will hope to make an impressive debut for Sunderland when they take on Wigan this weekend as he looks to form a partnership with last season's top scorer Darren Bent.
Gyan claims he came to the Stadium of Light to win trophies and says he is making bringing some silverware to back to Wearside his priority.
"First of all, I want to help both Ghana and my new club win trophies," said Gyan.
"I can only do well if I'm winning things at club and international level.
"But I don't want to get ahead of myself.
"The most important thing for me is to improve and mature as a player.
"Playing in England is a dream to many players, so I'm happy to be here.
"It's a big stage and I'm looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.
"I know it won't be easy, but I will work twice as hard in order to achieve my goals."
With Wigan having shipped ten goals at home already this season, punters might fancy using their free bet to back Gyan to score when the Black Cats travel to the DW Stadium this Saturday.
