Wolves are in a major fight with a host of other Premiership sides as they try to land Middlesbrough centre half David Wheater.
The 23-year-old is attracting interest from all across the country with Bolton, Aston Villa and Everton all ready to offer the £2m that will reportedly be enough to land the player, who has been outstanding for Boro despite their struggles this season.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has been savaged by injury problems so far this season and the arrival of Wheater would be a major bonus as he looks to plot a way to safety in the league.
"Things are happening," Boro boss Tony Mowbray said. "It might become more evident over the next few days."
