Tyrone's Brian Dooher has decided to call time on an illustrious inter-county career that lasted an incredible 16 years.
The all-action Clann na nGael clubman won three All-Ireland SFC medals with the Red Hand and captained the Ulster kingpins in 2005 and 2008.
Dooher, who recently turned 36, also won five provincial medals, two Allianz Football League medals and three All Star awards.
The veteran was used primarily as an impact sub during this year's championship and was introduced for his final Tyrone game in this year's quarter-final defeat by eventual champions Dublin.
Having won his first Celtic Cross in 2003, a year later Dooher was handed the Tyrone captaincy and in 2005 he paid an emotional tribute to Cormac McAnallen after he led the Tyrone panel up the steps of the Hogan Stand for only the second time in the county's history.
Dooher missed most of the following year's campaign after he shattered his kneecap but in 2007 the inspirational half-forward returned to the Tyrone starting XV and helped Mickey Harte's charges to another Ulster title, scoring five points in the semi-final win over Donegal.
In 2008, Dooher joined an elite group of players to lift the Sam Maguire Cup twice when Tyrone stormed through the backdoor to beat Jack O'Connor's Kerry in the football decider.
"Brian's preparation and dedication to Tyrone football over the majority of the last two decades has been incredible," county chairman Ciaran McLaughlin said.
"He was the heartbeat of the most successful Tyrone senior football team that we have ever had. He was and I hope will continue to be a brilliant ambassador for Tyrone GAA.
