Australia complete India rout

Australia have secured a 4-0 series whitewash against India with a 298-run win in the fourth and final Test at Adelaide on Saturday.

The home side dominated the series and continued their imperious form on the final day, as they bowled the tourists out for 201 when India required 500 to win.

Spinner Nathan Lyon enjoyed a fine day with the ball, as the 24-year-old skittled over the middle to tail end of the Indian batting order with apparent ease and finished with figures of 4-63.

There has been plenty of criticism aimed at the India side following another lacklustre performance but batsman and stand-in skipper Virender Sehwag believes his side can turn their poor form around.

He said: "I don't think (changes) are due because the same team played in the last couple of years when we became the number one team in the world with the same batting and bowling line-up.

"When we won the World Cup everyone was happy and cheering for Team India, and now the time we need the support of the fans and everybody, they should back their own team."
