Reds have money to spend

by Setanta Staff , 28 January 2012

Liverpool have money to spend in the transfer window but may stick with the squad they have, according to managing director Ian Ayre.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has been linked with a host of possible new signings but as yet has kept his hand in his pocket and that looks likely to continue to be the case.

Ayre has claimed they have money to strengthen their squad if they need to but he feels they are strong enough.

"Money is not an issue," Ayre told Sky Sports News. "If we need somebody and there's a player I think our owners have shown the level of commitment you would expect from a good ownership group that the manager will get supported whatever he needs.

"But that's not the same as saying we will just go spend money because we have got it or just because we can."
