Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has called on Charles N'Zogbia to show fans why he spent £9.5million on the midfielder in the summer.
The 25-year-old has been a huge disappointment since arriving at Villa Park from Wigan, having failed to hit the back of the net in 15 appearances.
He's missed the last two games with a heel injury but could make his comeback on the bench in tonight's match at home to QPR.
Speaking to the Brimingham Mail, McLeish acknowledged that N'Zogbia has so far failed to hit the heights he reached last season at the DW Stadium saying he is "capable of bigger things".
"I've not sat him down and asked him but he knows the standards that are expected," McLeish said. "He's aware Villa fans are looking for 9/10 and 10/10 from players that make a difference and Charles is one of those.
"I'm sure he is very determined as an individual to make his mark at Aston Villa. He's capable of greater things, there's no doubt about that.
"I'm sure he'll show everybody at this club what he can do. Goals and assists were his trademark at Wigan and at Newcastle and that should be evidence for Charles that he has that in his locker."
