Sessegnon delighted with Campbell return

by Setanta Staff , 02 February 2012 Sessegnon delighted with Campbell comeback

Stephane Sessegnon has paid tribute to Sunderland team-mate Fraizer Campbell after his blistering return to action.

The 24-year-old former Manchester United striker has wasted little time in making a massive impact since his return from a 17-month injury nightmare, scoring as a substitute against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Sunday and then marking his first start since August 2010 with a stunning opener in the 3-0 victory over Norwich.

Sessegnon has lined up behind a series of strikers since his arrival on Wearside from Paris St Germain in January last year but his fledgling partnership with Campbell has already been promisingly productive and he is delighted to see him back in business.

The Benin international said: "He's worked really hard to get back and played really well in his first match at the weekend. He has managed to recover and given his maximum for the team again [against Norwich].

"After such a long time injured, it's difficult to start coming back into games. But he's a player who loves playing and that's helped him.

"I'm really happy for him."
