Lexus Chase hero Synchronised is not certain to return to Leopardstown for the Hennessy Gold Cup later this month.
Connections decided not to send the nine-year-old back to Chepstow for the Welsh National over Christmas, preferring to run him on softer ground in the Lexus Chase, and their decision was justified when he romped to a eight and a half length win over Rubi Light.
Jonjo O'Neill had intimated that he would return to the Foxrock venue for a crack at the Hennessy Gold Cup, but the Jackdaws Castle has warned he is not a certain starter on Sunday week because he is taking a long time to recover from his Lexus heroics.
"He is taking his time to recover. He always does. As we speak, I would not say he would not be going," O'Neill told the Daily Mail.
"He proved (in the Lexus) that he is not just a mudlark but he did put a lot into it and you can tell that now.
"There is nothing wrong. I am happy with him but not delighted and he has to really excite me in the next week or so.
"I think the Hennessy is the ideal race for him rather than the Gold Cup but if he is not right there is no point going.
"If he was right for the Gold Cup, he might as well take his chance because there would not be a lot left for him this season."
