Roberto Martinez hopes Hugo Rodallega can put any thoughts he has of leaving Wigan to one side and focus on helping them stay up.
The Colombian striker will become a free agent at the end of the season when his contract expires and as such was linked with a host of clubs in January as Wigan considered cashing in.
QPR are thought to have made a deadline day offer for Rodallega which Wigan rejected and the Latics are now stuck with the out of form striker until the end of the season.
Martinez hopes Rodallega may now sign a new contract but says if he doesn't he hopes he will be able to help make sure Wigan stay up this season.
"He'll give everything he has for us. He hasn't ruled out signing a new contract. He wants to help the group - which is the only thing that matters," Martinez said.
