France make four changes

France coach Philippe Saint-Andre has made four changes to the team that beat Italy for Saturday's RBS Six Nations clash with Ireland.

The World Cup runners-up defeated Italy 30-12 at the Stade de France in the first match of this year's tournament and despite the victory Saint-Andre has decided to make four changes to the pack that took to the pitch against the Azzurri.

Imanol Harinordoquy takes over from Julien Bonnaire are openside with Yoann Maestri replacing Lionel Nallet in the second-row.

Dimitri Szarzewski starts at hooker, while Vincent Debaty has been dropped at loose-head with Jean-Baptiste Poux getting the nod.

"I wanted to bring in some freshness since maybe we worked too much last week," Saint-Andre said. "It was logical to bring Imanol in for the lineouts."

Saint-Andre admits he considered letting Harinordoquy start alongside Bonnaire but Louis Picamoles' fine performance against Italy prevented him from making the change.

"I thought about it but Picamoles's performance, defensively and offensively, was great. He made a lot of tackles and he managed to destroy the Italian rucks," the French coach explained.
