Cats dropping like flies

by Oli Skehan , 10 February 2012

John Dalton's inter-county career with Kilkenny has come to a premature end, with the Carrickshock clubman citing work commitments as his reason behind retiring.

The 26-year-old's decision comes as yet another blow to legendary Cats boss Brian Cody who will now have to plan without 'keeper PJ Ryan, Dalton's fellow defender Michael Kavanagh, midfielder James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick and one of the most dangerous forwards ever to play the game, Eddie Brennan.

Dalton joined the Kilkenny panel in 2006 and won five senior All-Irelands, six Leinster championships and two National Leagues, as well as U21 and intermediate All-Irelands with the men from the Marble City.
