Ferguson delivers Suarez blast

by Setanta Staff , 11 February 2012 Ferguson delivers Suarez blast

Sir Alex Ferguson has labelled Luis Suarez a "disgrace to Liverpool Football Club" after his refusal to shake Patrice Evra's hand.

Evra offered his hand to the Liverpool striker but Suarez, who was making his first start since his return from an eight game ban for racially abusing the defender, but the Uruguay international ignored the United defender and moved to keeper David de Gea.

The United captain then attempted to take Suarez's hand, but the Liverpool man shrugged him off.

There were reports of clashes between the two sets of players in the tunnel at half time and again on the pitch after the final whistle as United celebrated their 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.

United boss Ferguson believes Suraez's behaviour was unforgivable and claims the forward should never be allowed to play for Liverpool again.

On the Liverpool forward's refusal to shake Evra's hand, Ferguson told Sky Sports: "I could not believe it, I just could not believe it. "

He's a disgrace to Liverpool Football Club, that certain player should not be allowed to play for Liverpool again.

"The history that club's got and he does that and in a situation like today could have caused a riot. "

I was really disappointed in that guy, it was terrible what he did."
