Bopara echoes Cook caution

Ravi Bopara admits the England team are still wary of the threat Pakistan pose, despite taking a 2-0 lead in the one-day series.

England followed up their first win over the sub-continent nation with another fine performance on Wednesday as they won by 20 runs to take a stranglehold on the series with two games left to play.

Having been drubbed in the Test series against Pakistan few gave England any chance of salvaging something from what has been a tough tour in the 50-over format of the game.

However, Alastair Cook has lead his team by example with back-to-back hundreds to leave England on the brink of securing the series.

Having been whitewashed in the Test series England will be eager for revenge, but Bopara insists the team remains cautious and believes the final two games in the series will be the toughest yet.

"We know from the Test series what Pakistan are capable of. They are a very unpredictable side," he told Sporting Life.

"They will come out hard in the next couple of games, so we have to stay aware and keep doing what we've been doing."

Having been thrashed 5-0 by India in their last ODI series away from home, Bopara admits a series win over Pakistan in the Middle East would go a long way to enhancing England's confidence on subcontinent pitches.

"It's going to be a massive thing for us to win out here," Bopara added.

"It will give us confidence to know we can do it in sub-continent conditions."
