England paceman Steven Finn believes his dropping from the national side during the Ashes series has made him come back stronger.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form during the one-day series against Pakistan, with England extending their lead to 3-0 over the sub-continental outfit, who dominated the Test campaign.

Finn has bagged himself 11 wickets in the series so far, as Pakistan have struggled to cope with speedy bowler on the wickets in the Middle East this month.

The series looks set to conclude on Tuesday, with England hoping to secure a 4-0 whitewash in the limited overs campaign, following a disappointing Test encounters.

Finn has been leading the England bowling attack and believes previous disappointment at international level has boosted his recent performances in the United Arab Emirates.

He told BBC Sport: "It's nice to see some progress and to have come a long way since I was left out during the Ashes.

"There is a lot of hard work that needs to come to get that Test spot.

"Hopefully I have shown what I can do."
