Hunt explains Wolves decision

by Admin , 22 June 2010 football news

New signing Stephen Hunt says it was Wolves' desire to sign him that made him pick them ahead of other interested parties.

The Republic of Ireland winger completed his move from Hull on Monday, a full 12 months since Mick McCarthy first showed an interest in the player.

Hunt admits there were other clubs interested in him but having spoken to Mick McCarthy, he knew where he was most wanted and chose to move to Molineux.

He said: "Of course it has helped. When Wolves came in, and obviously I'm not fit yet, they put so much faith in me and you think 'to be honest they really want me and I really want to go there'. "

I always wanted to come here anyway, it's job done to an extent.

"I spoke to Mick when I got permission to speak, he really wanted me so that helps but I've got competition here."
