Everton boss eyes old boy

by Setanta Staff , 26 July 2011

Everton are being linked with a move for former striker James McFadden, who looks to be on his way from Birmingham City.

The 28-year-old Scottish striker left Goodison Park for St Andrews for £5m in January 2008, but he is set to return for nothing following the Blues' relegation to the Championship.

Everton are not alone on being keen on McFadden as Blackburn boss Steve Kean is also thought to be interested in the striker.

Moyes has been after a new front man since the end of last season but his moves in the transfer market are restricted as he wrestles with a limited budget at Goodison Park. Former crowd favourite McFadden on a free is exactly the sort of deal he is after.
