Adam defends commitment to Seasiders

Charlie Adam has insisted his performances for Blackpool in the second half of last season proved he was fully committed to the club.

The Scotland international won many admirers for his displays in the heart of the Seasiders' midfield and looked set to join Liverpool during the January transfer window.

Blackpool blocked the move as they battled, ultimately unsuccessfully, against relegation, before Adam was granted his dream move to Anfield this summer.

"When you're at a club that's fighting relegation you know it's going to be difficult to leave," he said.

"The situation was I wanted to come to a massive club like this. Blackpool made the decision I couldn't go and I respected that.

"I think the performances I had from January until the end of the season proved I was 110% behind the club. It's time to move on and look forward to the future."
