Preview: Bolton vs Swansea

by Kieran O'Daly , 27 January 2012

Bolton will be without new signing Tim Ream for their FA Cup fourth round clash with fellow Premiership side Swansea at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

Ream was signed on Thursday from the New York Red Bulls but has had to return to the US to complete the rest of his paperwork. He is also likely to miss Wednesday's Barclays Premier League meeting with Arsenal.

A number of Bolton players have been laid low with a bug this week, but manager Owen Coyle is hopeful they will all have recovered in time to play some part. Coyle has been boosted by the return of Jussi Jaaskelainen (thigh) and Tyrone Mears (broken leg) to full fitness and both may be involved at some stage on Saturday.

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers welcomes Alan Tate back into his squad for the clash as the defender continues his rehabilitation from the broken leg he suffered in a golf buggy accident last August. However, on-loan centre-half Steven Caulker will not feature after parent club Tottenham asked that he be left out to avoid being cup-tied.

Midfielder Josh McEachran, who is on loan from Chelsea, is set to make his first start for the Welsh side but won't be eligible when the Swans play Chelsea in the league on Tuesday.
