Woods shares Abu Dhabi lead

Tiger Woods shares the lead of Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship with Robert Rock following the third round of the tournament.

Woods and England’s Rock both recorded six-under-par rounds of 66 on Saturday, moving to 11-under overall.

Woods said of his performance: "I was just kind of consistent. I didn't do a whole lot wrong, I didn't do a whole lot right.

"Six birdies piled up, but I was methodically going about my business and grinding.

"This course is playing difficult enough. You can make birdies, but you can go the wrong way quickly. I've still got to post a good number."

The leading pair sit two strokes ahead of a quartet of Ryder Cup players – Scotland’s Paul Lawrie, Sweden’s Peter Hanson, Italian Francesco Molinari and Northern Irish star Rory McIlroy. Hanson enjoyed the round of the day, shooting eight-under-par for a share of third place.

Thorbjorn Olesen, leader at the midway point, could only manage a one-under 71 on Saturday, and is tied for seventh place with George Coetzee, James Kingston and Jean-Baptiste Gonnet, on eight-under.

Northern Ireland’s Gareth Maybin was second after Friday’s play, but his third-round 72 saw him drop back into a share of fifteenth place. Maybin, on six-under, is a stroke behind compatriot Graeme McDowell.
