Stringer set for Newcastle loan

by Michelle Fortune , 23 February 2012

Peter Stringer is to join the Newcastle Falcons on a short-term loan from early March.

Stringer is currently on loan with Aviva Premiership outfit Saracens - he was drafted in as cover for the injured Neil de Kock and Richard Wigglesworth, but his short-term deal is due to expire after the game against Northampton on March 4.

Rather than return to Munster, the Irish international will join up with Newcastle Falcons and will remain with them for the remainder of the season.

"Peter has been a brilliant addition to the squad, on and off the field, and we are sorry his three-month loan spell will come to an end after our match against Northampton on March 4th," Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall said.

Stringer will be available for Falcons in time for their Aviva Premiership clash with Harlequins on March 12.
