Bernard Brogan will have to wait to make his return to the Dublin squad after undergoing an operation on his knee this morning.
Brogan has not featured for Dublin since they won the All-Ireland SFC in September after decided to take an extended winter break in order to travel to Australia.
His return was delayed due to a hip injury but he recently spoke of his hope of making his comeback in the next couple of weeks.
However, he revealed on Twitter that he would be having a minor operation on his knee on Friday.
"Got through op ok, just seen physio was up doing a little bit of walking," he wrote.
"Funny my dad had same op 30 years ago and was in full cast for 6 weeks and took him 6 months to get back, I will walk out of here today and hopefully be back in 2-3 weeks! #advancesinmedince."
If Brogan's recovery goes to plan he will miss the upcoming league games against Down, Donegal and Mayo with the 2010 Footballer of the Year unlikely to be available until the semi-final on April 15.
