Sean O'Sullivan has retired from inter-county football for the second time.
O'Sullivan won four All-Ireland titles before he called time on his inter-county career in December 2009, but he surprised many by returning to the county set-up ahead of the 2012 season.
Kerry manager Jack O'Connor had managed to persuade the Mid Kerry clubman into returning to the panel for 2012 but told his team-mates on Tuesday night that he was retiring for the second and final time.
"He was anxious to have a go at it because there would have been a feeling he went too early after the 2009 All-Ireland win," O'Connor said.
O'Connor gave up his role as selector with the Kerry minor team in order to return and he started the Kingdom's first two Allianz Football League Division One games against Dublin and Armagh, scoring in the defeat to Armagh.
