Jenkins happy with Wales' injury situation

by Setanta Staff , 17 February 2012

Wales assistant coach Neil Jenkins says he and his colleagues are confident their side will be at full strength against England.

The two teams meet at Twickenham next Saturday, with Warren Gatland's men knowing that victory will hand them the Triple Crown and go a long way to helping them win their second RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam in four years.

However, they have a number of injury concerns going into the match with the likes of captain Sam Warburton, George North and Huw Bennett all currently on the sidelines following the team's opening two matches.

A number of players have been released from the camp to help maintain their form with their club sides, while the injured players have been kept at the team headquarters so they can undergo further treatment over the weekend.

However, Jenkins is confident the players will be fit for the match  - but says they will not be unnecessary rushed back into training.

"There are a few battered and bruised bodies, still, but we are hoping everyone is going to be up and running by next week," Jenkins told Sporting Life.

"They've got the weekend off after a bit more rehab today, and we will see where we are on Monday and Tuesday."
