Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas doesn’t think that his job or the club’s season is dependent on the Blues beating Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Villas-Boas was responding to questions after his side's poor showing against Championship side Birmingham in the FA Cup on Saturday where a second half Daniel Sturridge strike was required to ensure a replay at St Andrews.
The Blues boss will be hoping for a much improved display against the Italians but, even if they fail to progress, Villas-Boas is confident he will not be sacked by billionaire club owner Roman Abramovich.
Asked if the outcome would have any impact on his future, the 34-year-old said: "No, not at all. It's not up to me to decide that. You have to ask that question to the right person."
Talking about his side’s poor performance in Saturday’s FA Cup clash, Villas-Boas said: "We were not good enough. Better in the second half but not enough to win the game. Never satisfying when you draw at home to a Championship team."
He branded suggestions Drogba had delivered a half-time team-talk before his introduction as "ridiculous", but did admit that captain John Terry, who did not play on Saturday, may have complained to the referee about time-wasting in the first half.
