Neil Lennon has indicated Anthony Stokes will be given a new contract by Celtic if he continues to perform well for the Hoops.
The former Arsenal striker hasn't always been an automatic choice for Lennon's first XI this season, with Georgios Samaras and Gary Hooper providing stiff competition for places.
However, Stokes was given a start against Hibernian on Sunday and repaid his manager's faith by scoring after 14 minutes, going on to play a huge role in the 5-0 victory.
Stokes has said he is eager to discuss a new deal with Celtic and it looks as though he may get his wish after Lennon admitted he'd like to keep him at Parkhead if continues to produce performances like the one he put in against Hibernian.
"I have to say that that's the best Stokes has played in my time here," Lennon told reporters. "I thought that he did everything right and I couldn't be more pleased with him.
"At a big club like this we pick a team on the day which we feel is right for the occasion.
"It's taken Anthony a bit of time to adjust but you can see that his attitude is spot on. If things go the way that we want them to go he'll be first in the queue for a new deal because he's made a huge contribution since I've been here."
