Ally McCoist says the club have yet to decide whether they will appeal against the SPL's decision to block Daniel Cousin's move.
Rangers confirmed the signing of the striker subject to international clearance just 24 hours before going into administration but he was not registered with the Scottish Premier League at that stage and they blocked the move on Friday night.
McCoist has been quick to point out that the administrators were happy for the deal to go through and it will be a case of seeing whether the SPL board will overturn their decision.
When asked if there would be an appeal, McCoist revealed: "I don't know, I haven't spoken to the administrators but we will definitely have a chat with the administrators.
"What I would say is, they totally backed us in attempts to get Daniel Cousin to the club. It was the board of the SPL who knocked it back."
