Hodgson weary of Black Cats

by Setanta Staff , 23 February 2012 football news

West Brom manager Roy Hodgson says his side have not got carried away after their 5-1 derby victory over Wolves.

The emphatic scoreline ended Mick McCarthy's reign at Molineux and moved the Baggies up to 14th in the Premier League table.

Hodgson's side now entertain Sunderland on Saturday at the Hawthorns with a cushion of eight points between themselves and the relegation zone.

They are searching for their first home win since November 19, when they beat Bolton 2-1 in front of their own supporters, while the visitors to the Midlands on Saturday have won seven of their last 11 league games under new boss Martin O'Neill who took over from the sacked Steve Bruce back in December.

Hodgson believes his side need to be at their best once again if they are to pick up a long overdue three points at home.

"I saw them on TV at the weekend and they looked very strong against Arsenal," he told the club's official website. "They are very enthusiastic and showed a lot of pace and strength. It will be a difficult game."
