Setanta Sports apologises for the mistaken advertising of live coverage of the Rangers v Hibernian match on Saturday, October 1st.
As with the start of last season, Rangers FC has not yet agreed access to 3pm (UK) Saturday kick offs for televised coverage. As in previous seasons, these matches are not televised in the UK and special arrangements are made for international broadcasts. These arrangements have not yet been agreed by Rangers FC.
Unfortunately the programming team failed to remove the live broadcast from the schedule and it was inadvertently advertised as being live.
On the night, the Setanta Broadcast Centre misunderstood the reason for the failed broadcast and an on-screen message attributed it to ‘adverse weather’. This was not the case and was simply a mistake. This was not an attempt to hide the reason for the failed broadcast. The message was removed after 15 minutes.
Setanta would like to apologise to its loyal customers for the inconvenience caused by this oversight. Setanta will continue to work with Rangers FC to confirm access to 3pm (UK) kick offs on an ongoing basis and will keep customers updated.
