Everton's hopes of including Phil Jagielka to face Sporting on Thursday night appear to be over after his reserve match was cancelled.
The England centre-half has been out of the side for ten months after damaging cruciate ligaments in his left knee against Manchester City last April but was expected to play for half of the reserves match against Bolton on Tuesday.
However, a frozen pitch saw that cancelled so he is unlikely to now feature against Sporting Lisbon and Philippe Senderos is more likely to get the nod.
