West Ham could spark a transfer scramble in the summer by allowing goalkeeper Robert Green to move on.
Green has just over a year left to run on his current contract but he has yet to agree a new one and there have been suggestions he could be on the move in the summer.
There would be no shortage of interest in Green if that was the case and there have even been suggestions that the Hammers have lined up Peterborough's Joe Lewis as a replacement.
"We have no rigid policy on Robert except that if any of the top four came in and he wanted to move we would allow him to," a source close to the club has been quoted as saying.
"We may be in the business of offering increases to our very best players despite the well publicised cost-cutting exercise. But we would expect plenty of interest in him and wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to advance himself."
