Officials from Liverpool, Everton and the city council will today sit down to discuss new stadium options open too them.
Both Liverpool and Everton are looking to to find a solution to their search for new homes which would see them be able to maximise their earning potential in the modern game.
Also at the meeting will be representatives from the University and the North West Development Agency (NWDA along with the two chief executives from the clubs, Liverpool's Christian Purslow and his Everton counterpart Robert Elstone.
NWDA chief executive Steve Broomhead told the Post: "We welcome the meeting. People are beginning to look at the opportunities again. Both clubs need solutions, either singly or jointly."
