Everton are said to be tracking Malaga's holding midfielder Dani Toribio with a view to making a summer move for the player.
The 21-year-old Spanish star has resurrected his career with Malaga after failing to make the breakthrough at Barcelona and he is now attracting interest from across the continent.
Everton scouts were apparently on hand to watch him in recent La Liga action against both Barca and Real Madrid where he is said to have impressed.
Everton may well have a job in persuading him to move on though as he is happy where he is with two years left on his present deal.
"I ignore the rumours and at the moment my only desire is to focus on Malaga," he told Sky.
