United midfielder Owen Hargreaves will not make his comeback in the reserves against Manchester City tonight.
The 29-year-old had been pencilled in for a run-out in the mini derby after spending 18 months out with knee problems, but Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed last night that there had been a change of plan.
United say Hargreaves has not suffered a setback, but that the match does not fit in with the player's training schedule as he recovers from operations on both knees.
"This definitely isn't another injury setback. It just doesn't fit in with Owen's training schedule," a spokesman told the club's official website.
