Southampton are not giving up hopes of making a late push for the play-offs despite Tuesday night's frustrating 1-0 defeat to Swindon.
The Saints have been in excellent form of late and went into the game full of confidence having beaten high-flying Leeds at the weekend.
However, Swindon have promotion hopes of their own as Charlie Austin proved by converting his 15th goal of the season to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win for the Robins at St Mary's.
Southampton defender Jose Fonte was a disappointed man at the full-time whistle but is urging his team-mates to keep going even after this setback which has left them with a 16-point gap and just 11 games left.
Fonte said: "The mood after a game like this is so, so frustrated, because we gave everything.
"The effort was there, the ball just didn't go in.
"You get really nervous and anxious and you see the ball bouncing off defenders, the goalkeeper making good saves and the ball just won't go in.
"You get really anxious, because we knew we had to win.
"But we're professionals, we know where we want to go and it's one of those nights and I said before we need to forget this game and go to MK Dons (on Saturday) and try to get the three points."
