Posh skipper in race to face Seasiders

by Admin , 23 April 2010 Posh skipper in race to face Seasiders

Skipper and goalkeeper Joe Lewis is struggling to overcome a hip injury for Peterborough's home clash with play-off hopefuls Blackpool.

The Posh custodian had an impressive game in last week's 6-0 thrashing at Reading with his heroics preventing the rampant Royals from coming out of the match with a cricket score.

However Lewis suffered a slight hip problem at the Madejski Stadium so Posh boss Gary Johnson might have to pitch James McKeown into the starting XI at London Road on Saturday for their final Championship home game of the season.

Left-back Scott Griffiths has a stomach problem and is rated doubtful, but Johnson should have on-loan Brighton striker Liam Dickinson back following a three-game absence due to a hamstring injury.

Knee injury victims Aaron Mcleanand Izale McLeod are still missing along with winger Chris Whelpdale, who has an ankle injury, while defender Gabriel Zakuani will be out until next season after injuring his groin at Reading.

Posh are already relegated but Ian Holloway's Blackpool need a win to keep the pressure on sixth-placed Swansea in the battle for a play-off spot.
