Hearts goalkeeper Marian Kello can start his rehabilitation after being told he does not need surgery on his broken wrist.
The Slovak had feared he may have to go under the knife as the injury was taking longer than anticipated to heal but now those concerns have been eased and he can start preparing for next season.
Boss Jim Jefferies told the club website: "Marian will not have to have an operation.
"He had the cast taken off on Friday and the doctors have had a look at him again.
"He will need two to three weeks strengthening, so that rules him out of playing again this season, but it's good news that he won't have to have surgery.
"He can now concentrate on building his wrist up and making sure he is 100% fit."
Janos Balogh has also been ruled out for the rest of the season but Jefferies has been delighted with the form of Jamie MacDonald.
Jefferies said: "He has come in and done a good job for the team and his performances have shown that this is an area where we are quite strong."
