Preston boss Darren Ferguson has heaped praise on Callum Davidson and feels the rest of the side should follow his lead.
The defender has spent six-years at Deepdale and Ferguson believes he is a key member of the North End squad.
He said: "It is no coincidence that Callum has been at the club six years and they have got in the play-offs four times during that period.
"
You look at the teams who win things, they all have character about them, even Barcelona.
They are a great football team, but the way they work is clear to see.
"Callum has the heart and he will put a shift in. He comes to training and he is at it and we need more of that type."
Meanwhile, Preston have offered a 12-month professional contract to 17-year-old Jamie Douglas, who has impressed on reserve team duty after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury.
