Coventry boss Chris Coleman is said to be interested in Preston striker Neil Mellor, who has been told he is free to leave Deepdale.
The former Liverpool striker, who has had a fairly impressive campaign for PNE, scoring 11 goals, met with boss Darren Ferguson this week to be told he can move on if the right offer comes in over the summer.
Several Championship sides are said to be keen on the 27-year-old with Coventry among them.
Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United and Watford have all monitored Mellor's situation and the Sky Blues are likely to face plenty of competition for his services should Coleman make him a summer target.
