Paul Hayes says he is looking forward to working with Preston boss Darren Ferguson after joining from Scunthorpe on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Deepdale having impressed with the Iron this season, scoring 13 goals to help keep them in the Championship following their promotion last year.
Hayes performance also earned him the Scunthorpe Player of the Season award but he has now decided to leave Glanford Park and insists he is excited to start work with Ferguson.
"I am very pleased to have this deal done, it has been in the press and kicking around for a long time and I am very pleased to be here now," Hayes told the club's official website.
"The manager sold it to me. I've had a few meetings with managers from other clubs but as soon as I got here he has welcomed me and my family and the manager, Darren Ferguson, sold it to me.
"
The club is very ambitious, with a very ambitious manager and I am at that point in my career where I need to push on with my career.
I am hoping that this is the club to take my career forward."
