One striker in, another to follow?

by Admin , 22 June 2010 One striker in, another to follow?

Coventry boss Aidy Boothroyd could make a move to sign disgraced striker Marlon King after finalising a deal for Gary McSheffrey.

King, 30, is serving an 18-month jail term for sexual assault but is due to released before the start of next season.

The former Wigan man is a free agent after having his contract terminated by them after being convicted last October and Boothroyd is being linked with a move for King after guiding him through the most successful period of his career at Watford.

Meanwhile, McSheffrey has been speaking since completing his return to the Sky Blues from Birmingham on a 12-month deal and the club where he began his career.

McSheffrey said: "It has been a frustrating time but you go through these spells in your career. I have missed a lot through injury but then Birmingham were going through a quite awesome season and I was on the bench. "

I am looking forward to the opportunity of playing games and I come back here with 40-odd Premiership games and two promotions under my belt.

That is all in the past and I am looking forward to my future here at Coventry.

I feel fresh and am determined to do well here."
