Portsmouth chief executive David Lampitt is adamant the club will sign Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence on a permanent deal in January.
The winger joined the Championship outfit on an emergency loan deal from the Potters after his proposed full-time transfer was not registered in time on transfer deadline day in August.
And, while there have been reports that other clubs could try and pinch Lawrence from Pompey, the Fratton Park outfit insist the Republic of Ireland star is their man.
"Liam will be signing for us in January permanently, I can reassure the fans of that," Lampitt told The News.
"He's our player, he's been first class - and long may that continue."
