Celtic may be without Gary Hooper for Saturday’s SPL trip to McDiarmid Park to face St Johnstone.
It is the second clash of the sides in four days after Anthony Stokes’ brace helped the Bhoys to a 3-2 win over St Johnstone in the Co-operative Insurance Cup in midweek, their first outing since they were beaten 3-1 by Rangers in last Sunday’s Old Firm clash.
Those points were the first dropped by Neil Lennon’s men in the league this season and they will look to continue their recovery again against Derek McInnes’s side. However, former Scunthorpe United striker Hooper picked up a metatarsal injury in Wednesday’s game and may miss out on the return to Perth.
Skipper Shaun Maloney could also miss out again for Celtic. He has an eye injury.
McInnes is expected to name a side similar to the one beaten by Celtic in midweek.
Midweek goalscorer Murray Davidson should be okay for the noon encounter despite taking a knock to the ankle, but Graham Gartland and Kevin Moon (both knee) and Jody Morris (rib) are all still unavailable for the hosts.
