Kaka promises improvement

by Shane Keegan , 09 June 2011

Brazilian playmaker Kaka believes that he owes Real Madrid a big season following his disappointing start at the Bernabeu.

Kaka has assured the Real Madrid faithful that he is going to remain at the club until he feels he has paid his dues following his transfer from AC Milan at the start of last season.

The 29-year-old underwent knee surgery following last summer’s World Cup and has only been fit to play since January. Kaka has been struggling to find any form since his return to action however, and did not featured too prominently for the Galacticos in the second half of the season.

“On a personal level, it was the most difficult season of my career,” Kaka told Spanish newspaper AS.

“For the team it was OK, we won the Copa del Rey against Barcelona, reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and came second in the league.

“But that is not enough for a club such as Madrid.

“For me personally it was very difficult.

“I had the injury, returned in January, but in March stopped again. I managed to play the last two months but it was hard.”

Kaka has been linked with a move away from Madrid following his slow season, but the Brazilian is adamant that he will stay at the Spanish capital.

“My desire is to remain at Real Madrid.

“I knew there would be speculation because since arriving in Madrid I have been linked with 10 teams. But Mourinho wants me to continue and I will follow.”
