Italian club Lazio have confirmed that Miroslav Klose has signed for the club following his departure from Bayern Munich.
The German international has agreed to a two year deal with the Italians, and has signed on a free transfer following his contract expiration with Bayern Munich.
Klose had been in talks with his former employers earlier in the week, but they broke down over the lenght of a new contract. As a result, the 32-year-old has opted for a move to Italy.
“I’ve had four good and successful years here in Munich, and I’d like to thank FC Bayern very much indeed for that. The opportunity to play for this club was always very special,” Klose said in a statement on Bayern’s website.
Klose made a total of 98 Bundesliga appearances for Munich between 2007-2011 and managed to hit the net 24 times. He won the Bundesliga twice with the club as well as the DFB-Pokal Cup.
Klose is also Germany’s second highest goalscorer of all time, scoring 61 times for his country in 109 appearances.
