Derby manager Nigel Clough has challenged new signing Adam Legzdins to compete with Frank Fielding for the goalkeeping jersey.
Legzdins became the Rams' sixth summer signing last week, but is expected to play a bit-part role following the acquisition of England Under-21s goalkeeper Fielding from Blackburn earlier in the summer.
Clough, hoping to be given a welcome selection headache, told the club's official website: "I want Martin Taylor (goalkeeper coach) to come into my office after training saying 'we've got a right selection headache, Frank and Adam are flying in training'.
"We looked around at a lot of goalkeepers towards the end of last season and we think Adam fits the bill for what we were looking for.
"You want two good goalkeepers in your squad and at the age they are, they have the potential to be two 'number ones' in the future."
